Massachusetts Governor and former Harvard basketball player Maura Healey tiptoed around the idea of poaching the Sun, when she declared Tuesday WNBA Day in Massachusetts. But, in her official proclamation, she called for the league to put a franchise in Boston. It read:

"I think the market here itself is just going to be better for a women’s basketball program," said Sun guard Saniya Rivers.

I think the time is right you can see the energy, the excitement, the venue is large enough to host women’s professional basketball."

The Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun played before a sold-out TD Garden on Tuesday, the second year in a row the WNBA has filled the arena to capacity for a regular season game. Fever guard Sophie Cunningham is hoping Boston hosts more games in the future.

Linkin Park is coming to TD Garden in Boston for their highly anticipated From Zero World Tour. The iconic rock band will perform back-to-back shows on July 31 and Aug. 1, 2025.
