Katy Perry experienced a frightening onstage mishap Friday night during her Lifetimes Tour stop at the Chase Center in San Francisco. While performing her hit song “Roar,” the pop star was seated atop a large butterfly-shaped prop that was designed to fly above the crowd.

As People notes, Perry endured a previous stage malfunction during the tour's Australian leg when a flying sphere she rides in began tilting mid-performance, forcing her to cling to the cables connected to the sphere.

In multiple fan videos, Perry nearly falls above the audience at the Chase Center as the prop malfunctions while she is in the air. While singing her 2013 hit song "Roar," the 13-time Grammy nominee was riding on the prop when it titled and dropped, seemingly causing her to lose her balance.
