Ireland striker Evan Ferguson is on the verge of joining Italian giants Roma on loan from Brighton, with the option of a £40m permanent deal down the line

Brighton striker Evan Ferguson will have a medical with Italian side Roma ahead of joining the Serie A outfit on loan.

Evan Ferguson is set to complete his move to Serie A giants Roma after a deal was agreed with Brighton and former Ireland striker John Aldridge has declared the move is perfectly timed.

Roma are currently €5 million away from Flamengo’s valuation of full-back Wesley, whilst Brighton are insistent a deal for Irish striker Evan Ferguson contains an obligation for the Giallorossi to purchase the player permanently, reports from Italy claim.

When an 18-year-old Evan Ferguson scored his first professional hat-trick in September 2023 it appeared he was destined to join the Premier League's elite. The Irishman scored with three of his four shots in Brighton's 3-1 win over Newcastle to earn effusive praise.
