Former MasterChef judge John Torode reportedly learned of his fate via the BBC News website after the corporation and Bandijay released a statement

John Torode has been sacked as MasterChef presenter after it emerged that an allegation against him of using racist language was upheld. On Monday, the TV chef said he had "no recollection" of the incident, adding: "I do not believe that it happened."

The BBC in a statement said an “extremely offensive racist term” had been used in the workplace, prompting Torode’s contract to not be renewed.
