A Nashville woman was charged with false reporting during a double homicide case after giving misleading statements, later admitting she witnessed the crime. Her boyfriend is wanted for the murders.

SAN MARCOS, Texas — Police in San Marcos are investigating a double shooting that left two dead early Saturday morning near Texas State University. Officers were dispatched to San Antonio Street at Guadalupe Street for reports of shots fired. When they arrived at the scene, they found two confirmed fatalities.

The incident was part of a violent five-day stretch that included seven shootings, including two officer-related shootings.

The sister of Darryl, Latoya Hanna, was also charged during the investigation on January 12, 2024. Latoya was arrested in St. Lucie on a first-degree murder charge, which was then reduced to second-degree murder on February 9, 2024.

Testimony began July 17 in the trial of Tony Haase, accused of killing Tanna Togstad and Timothy Mumbrue in 1992 in rural Waupaca County.
