The San Francisco 49ers superstar topped the ranking of off-ball linebackers going into the 2025 season in a survey of coaches, scouts and executives conducted by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Warner and Smith continue to dominate at their position. This marks the third consecutive year they have ranked 1-2 in Fowler's annual survey.

But if the San Francisco 49ers plan to be there, they're going to have to prove it with a youth moment this offseason, according to Jerry Rice. The Hall of Fame wideout is not optimistic about his former team's roster moves coming off last season's 6-11 struggles that followed a Super Bowl appearance the previous campaign.

The San Francisco 49ers made a clear effort to improve their front by getting younger and reshuffling the unit. They not only drafted Alfred Collins in Round 2, but also C.J. West in Round 4. West comes in as the 23rd most important 49ers player this year.

The Bills defense will need to offer Josh Allen better support while the Chargers look poised for a Year 2 leap under Jim Harbaugh.
