The Astros staggered their way into the break Sunday, losing 5-1 to the Texas Rangers at Daikin Park. Houston (56-40) dropped five of six games on the homestand to close the first half, with the lone win coming Saturday in walk-off fashion.

The Texas Rangers (47-49) will visit the Houston Astros (56-39), in the final game of a three-game series, Sunday at 2:10 p.m. ET. The Rangers are an underdog (+114 on the moneyline) when they visit the Astros (-136). The Astros will give the ball to Hunter Brown (9-3) against the Rangers and Nathan Eovaldi (6-3).

Midway through the 2025 season, Brown has lowered his ERA to 2.21, a significant improvement from last year’s 3.49 mark. He’s already tallied 129 strikeouts halfway through the season, just 50 short of his 2024 total of 179. Also, Brown’s strikeout rate has increased this year, sitting at 30.8% compared to 25.1% last season.
