The father of a 4-year-old is being hailed as a hero for getting his child away from a cougar attack on a popular trail in Olympic National Park in Washington state.

A 4-year-old child was attacked by a collared mountain lion at Olympic National Park this weekend and transported via helicopter to a Seattle hospital for treatment for their injuries.

The child was bitten by the mountain lion while walking with their family on a "popular trail," park officials said.
