MACOMB COUNTY, MI -- A 16-year-old Detroit teen was formally charged with murder Thursday in connection with a fatal crash that took place Saturday in Warren. Daniel Canales was arraigned in 41B District Court on a charge of second-degree murder, along with several others felonies related to the crash.

The case began with sex crimes charges involving a minor. Lavor Harmon, 39, was indicted by a grand jury for statutory rape and sodomy in June. The defendant’s sister, Lavonda Harmon, was later charged with tampering with a witness.
